A Morning Prayer to Seek God's Kingdom First

Jesus, You pointed to the birds and the wildflowers
and told us not to worry.
Your Father feeds them and clothes them,
and we matter far more to Him than they do.

Still, I wake up thinking about my needs.
The bills, the groceries, the repairs,
my health, my plans for the week.
They crowd to the front of the line.

This morning, I put Your kingdom first.
Your ways before my wants.
Your people before my comfort.
What pleases You before what impresses others.

And I trust You with the rest.
You know what I need
before I've even said it out loud.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray this on a morning when the bills, the appointments or the to-do list are the first things on your mind. Say it slowly before you pick up the phone or open the mail.
