Privacy Policy

Prayer Today is designed to work without an account and to collect as little information as practical. This policy explains what happens when you use prayer.today or the Prayer Today mobile app.

Information you provide

If you use “Find a Prayer,” the words you enter are sent to our service so we can match or write a prayer for you. The request may be processed by an artificial intelligence service and stored in our database to return the result, prevent repeated processing, and improve the collection.

A request that appears general and non-personal may become a public prayer page. Requests that appear personal are not intentionally published. Please do not include names, contact details, medical records, or other sensitive or identifying information in a request.

When you rate a prayer, we store the prayer identifier and your positive or negative rating. We do not require a name or account for ratings.

Information collected automatically

Like most online services, our hosting and security providers receive basic technical information needed to deliver the service, such as an IP address, device or browser type, requested page, and request time. The website also uses privacy-focused, aggregate analytics to understand which pages and features are useful. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

The app may contact our service to retrieve the prayer for your local date or to fulfill a prayer search. Normal network information is sent with those requests.

Information kept on your device

In the app, favorites, recent prayers, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not receive that local information unless you separately send it to us. Copying or sharing a prayer uses your device’s standard features; we do not receive the people or apps you share it with.

How we use information

• Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website and app.
• Find, generate, cache, and improve prayer results.
• Measure aggregate use and understand which prayers are helpful.
• Comply with law and protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

Service providers

We use service providers for hosting, databases, analytics, and artificial intelligence processing. They may process information for us under their own contractual and security obligations. Prayer searches may be sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Our service is currently hosted using Vercel, database services are provided by Turso, and aggregate website analytics are provided using Plausible.

Sale, advertising, and tracking

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for targeted advertising, and the app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Retention and deletion

Technical logs are retained according to our service providers’ operational and security practices. Prayer requests and generated results may remain in our cache or database for as long as they are useful to operate the service. Locally stored app data remains on your device until you clear it or remove the app.

You may request access to or deletion of information you believe we hold about you by using the developer contact shown on the Prayer Today App Store page. Because the service does not use accounts, we may be unable to identify or link a record to you without details about the request.

Children

The service is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee complete security. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, or to appeal a privacy decision. Use the developer contact on the App Store page to make a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
