A Prayer for a Miracle
Lord, I need a miracle. I've said it quietly for weeks. Today I'm saying it out loud.
Every ordinary door has been tried. The experts have done what experts can do. The plans have run out. The options are thin. Which means I am exactly where miracles begin — at the end of what people can manage, at the start of what only You can do.
You parted a sea. You filled empty nets. You spoke to a dead girl and she got up and ate breakfast. None of that cost You anything but a word. So I am asking for a word, Lord. One word over this.
I come like the father in the crowd who told You the truth: Lord, I believe — help my unbelief. My faith is real and it is shaky, both at once. You did not turn that man away, so I know You won't turn from me.
I won't tell You what You must do. You are God and I am not. But I will ask with my whole chest: do the thing that has no explanation. Move what cannot be moved.
And whatever You choose, in Your wisdom and Your love, keep me close to You on the other side of the answer — because more than the miracle, I need You.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when the situation is bigger than every solution you've tried — a diagnosis, a prodigal, a door that will not open. Keep doing the ordinary faithful things while you pray; miracles and medicine, effort and prayer have never been enemies.
A Verse to Hold On To
