A Morning Prayer Holding My Plans Loosely

Here is my list for today, Lord.
You know it — I wrote it carefully.
The calls, the errands, the things I promised,
the one job I keep putting off.

I offer it to You now, written in pencil.
Erase whatever You want to change.

If an interruption comes, let me look for You in it.
If a plan falls through, keep me from grumbling.
If You put a person in my way
who was never on my list,
help me see that they may be the point.

I can plan my road,
but You are the One who directs my steps.
I would rather walk where You lead
than finish everything I planned without You.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
