An Evening Prayer Counting Three Small Gifts
Father, before I sleep, I want to count.
Not my worries. I've counted those all day.
Just three small gifts from today. The first: something warm in my hands,
a cup, a meal, a bath, a blanket.
You thought of my comfort before I did.The second: someone who was kind to me,
even in a small way I almost missed.
You were kind to me through them. And the third: this quiet moment now,
the day put down, the night ahead.
Even this comes from Your hand.If I looked harder, I'd find a hundred more.
Thank You for every gift too small to notice,
and for the Giver behind them all.In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this at bedtime, when the mind tends to go over the day's troubles. Stop at each of the three gifts and name something real from your own day. A warm cup or a kind word is enough.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow." — James 1:17 (BSB)
