An Evening Prayer to the God Who Does Not Change
Faithful God, You did not change today.
The news changed by the hour.
The weather changed its mind three times.
My mood went up and down all day.
I changed my mind about a dozen things. But You stayed exactly who You are.
Kind when the day began, and kind now.
Faithful in the rush, and faithful in the quiet.
Your love as high as the heavens,
Your faithfulness up to the clouds.I come to the end of another day
still held, still loved, still Yours.
Not because I held on so well,
but because You never let go.Tomorrow I'll change again, I'm sure.
And You will still be You.
That is enough to sleep on.In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this after a day of bad news or changing plans, when everything seemed to shift under your feet. It also suits a restless evening when your own mood has gone up and down.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Your loving devotion, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds." — Psalm 36:5 (BSB)
