A Prayer for When You Are Scared

Lord, I am scared right now. My heart is pounding and my mind will not rest. I do not know what will happen next, and the fear feels heavier than I can carry.

Draw close to me, Father. Remind me that you are here, that I am not alone in this, and that nothing can take me out of your hands.

Quiet my racing thoughts. Breathe your peace into me, and hold me steady until the fear passes.

Help me to trust you one moment at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this whenever fear rises up, whether in a sudden moment of panic or a long, worried night. Say it slowly, breathing deeply, and let each line remind you that God is near. If fear becomes overwhelming or constant, please reach out to someone you trust for support too.
