A Prayer in Time of War
God of peace, we come to You in a time of war. Our hearts ache for those caught in its terror. We cry out for the fighting to end.
Protect the innocent, the children, the frightened, and the weary. Comfort those who mourn and shelter those who flee. Be near to soldiers and civilians alike.
Soften hard hearts, Lord. Turn hatred into mercy, and swords into peace. Give leaders wisdom and courage to choose the path of life.
We trust that You are stronger than every weapon. Bring an end to this suffering, and let true peace come. In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when news of war weighs on your heart, or whenever you feel helpless before conflict in the world. You can also pray it with others, lifting up all who suffer and longing together for peace.
