A Prayer Before a Game

Lord, before this game begins, I come to You. Thank You for the strength in my body and the chance to play. Steady my nerves and settle my heart.

Help me to give my best and play with a good spirit. Guard me and my teammates from injury. Let me be fair, humble, and kind, whether I win or lose.

Whatever happens today, help me to enjoy the game and to honor You with how I play. I place this moment in Your hands, in Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this quietly in the locker room, on the sidelines, or in the car before you head out to play. It's a good way to calm your nerves and set your heart before the whistle blows.

A Verse to Hold On To

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." — Philippians 4:13 (KJV)
