A Prayer Against Fear of the Dead

Lord, I come to You afraid, feeling attacked and surrounded by darkness. The dead cannot rule over me, for You alone are Lord of the living and the dead. Cover me now with Your peace.

Jesus, scatter every fear that haunts my mind and my sleep. Let no shadow and no nightmare hold power over me. You conquered death and the grave, and in You I am safe.

Father, fill this place with Your light. Quiet my racing heart. Send Your peace to guard me through the night and the day.

Help me to rest in You, trusting that nothing can separate me from Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this whenever fear of the dead, frightening dreams, or a sense of attack troubles you, especially at night. Say it slowly and breathe. If these fears are constant or overwhelming, it is also wise and good to speak with a doctor or trusted counselor.
