A Prayer Against Spiritual Attack

Lord God, I come to stand in Your strength, not my own.

Something has been pressing on me — heaviness, discouragement, temptation that keeps circling back, a whisper that says I am alone and this will not lift. Whatever its source, I bring it into Your light, because nothing in darkness survives Your light.

You told me to put on the whole armor of God, so I do that now. Buckle truth around me — I refuse every lie about who You are and whose I am. Cover my heart with Your righteousness, not my record. Set my feet in the gospel of peace, steady and unshaken. Over it all, raise the shield of faith, and guard my mind with the helmet of salvation. Put Your Word in my hand, sharp and living.

I don't need to shout at the darkness, Lord. I only need to stand near You. Greater is the One in me than anything against me. The battle belongs to You, and You have never lost.

So I resist the enemy and I draw near to God — and I trust Your promise that when I do, the darkness flees. Fill this house, this mind, this day with Your Spirit, until there is no vacant corner left.

I stand. And having done all, I keep standing.

Pray this when a season feels contested — when discouragement, temptation, or fear keeps returning with unusual weight. Pray it calmly and without drama; the Christian's posture is not panic but standing firm. It also makes a strong morning prayer before a demanding day.
