An Evening Prayer to Make Peace Before I Sleep

Jesus, Prince of Peace,
I don't want to sleep at odds with anyone.

Show me if there's someone I should make peace with
before this day is done.
A message I could send.
A door I could knock on, gently.
A hand on a shoulder.
A plain, honest sorry.

Make peace in me first.
Settle the part of me that wants to win,
the part that keeps score.

Then let me do what I can.
If it's possible on my part,
let it be done tonight.
If it isn't possible on theirs,
let me still lie down without bitterness.

You made peace with me
while I was still far off.
Let me be just as quick to do the same.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
