Satisfy Us in the Morning — A Prayer From Psalm 90

Lord, You have been our home in every generation.
Before the mountains were born, You were God,
and You will still be God long after I am gone.

My life is short beside Yours,
like grass that is fresh in the morning
and dry by evening.
Teach me to count my days,
not with fear, but with wisdom,
so I spend this one well.

Satisfy me this morning with Your unfailing love,
so I can sing for joy
and be glad all my days,
however many there are.

Let Your kindness rest on me today.
And take the work of my hands, small as it is,
and make it last.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this when a birthday or a funeral has reminded you how quickly the years go. Say it at the start of the day, and come back to it each morning for a week if it helps.

A Verse to Hold On To

"Satisfy us in the morning with Your loving devotion, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days." — Psalm 90:14 (BSB)
