In the Morning You Hear My Voice — A Prayer From Psalm 5

In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice.
Here it is, still rough with sleep.

At daybreak I lay my requests before You, one by one,
the way the priests laid out the morning offering.
The worry that woke me early.
Someone I love who is struggling.
The decision I can't make yet.
The need I don't know how to meet.

I'm setting them down in front of You,
and I won't snatch them back.
All day, I'll watch for what You do with them.

Lead me in Your right ways today.
Make the path straight in front of me.
Surround me with Your favor like a shield.
And let me be glad,
because I have taken refuge in You.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this at the start of the day when you have several worries and requests on your heart. You might name each one aloud as you come to it, then set it down and go about your day.

A Verse to Hold On To
