An Evening Prayer for the Good I Left Undone
Here I am, Lord, with a list I didn't finish.
Not the chores. The kindnesses. The call I meant to make.
The card still on the table, unsigned.
The neighbor I meant to check on.
The person I walked past because I was busy.None of it was wicked.
It just didn't get done,
and someone may have needed it.Forgive me for the good I could have done
and put off for another day.
If it isn't too late, give me tomorrow to do it.
If it is too late,
let me carry the lesson, not the guilt.Bless whoever I left waiting.
Send someone else to them tonight
with the kindness I didn't bring. In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when you lie down thinking of the call you didn't make or the visit you put off. Name the one that weighs on you most, and if it can still be done, write it on a note where you will see it in the morning.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Do not withhold good from the deserving when it is within your power to act." — Proverbs 3:27 (BSB)
