A Prayer to Let Go of Malice
Father, I come to You with a heart that has grown hard. Malice has crept in, and I feel the weight of ill will toward others. I bring it all to You now.
Lord, search me and show me where bitterness has taken root. Pull it out gently. Replace my resentment with kindness, and my anger with Your peace.
Teach me to wish well for those I have resented. Give me a clean heart and a generous spirit, that I may walk in love as You have loved me.
Free me from every grudge, and let mercy flow through me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when you notice bitterness or ill will settling in your heart toward someone. It is a good prayer to return to whenever old resentments rise again, asking God to keep softening you.
A Verse to Hold On To
"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice." — Ephesians 4:31 (KJV)
This prayer was written for a visitor who asked for “malice”. Ask for your own.
