A Prayer for Someone in Prison

Lord of mercy, I bring before You someone behind bars. You see them where they are, and You have not forgotten them. Draw near to them today.

Comfort their heart in the loneliness of that place. Guard their body and mind from harm. Give them hope when the days feel long and the walls feel close.

Meet them there, Lord, as only You can. Bring healing where there is regret, and light where there is darkness. Remind them that no wall can shut out Your love.

Watch over their family too, and carry them all in Your care. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this when someone you know is in prison, or when you simply feel moved to lift up those behind bars. It can be prayed alone or shared in a letter to bring them comfort.
