A Prayer for Sadness

Loving Father, My heart feels heavy today, and sadness sits close beside me. You see the tears I cannot always explain. Come near to me now.

Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted. Hold me gently in this low place. Remind me that I am not alone, and that You have not forgotten me.

Lift a little of this weight, I pray. Let hope find a small opening in my heart. Carry me through this day, one moment at a time.

Help me trust that joy can return, even when I cannot feel it yet. I rest in Your care and Your steady love, in Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This
