A Prayer When Something Is Lost
Father, I have lost something that matters to me, and my heart is anxious. Calm my worry and steady my hands as I search.
You see all things, Lord. Nothing is hidden from You. Guide my steps and my eyes, and help me find what I am seeking.
If what is gone cannot be found, give me peace to let it go. Teach me to hold loosely to what fades, and tightly to You.
Thank You for being near in small troubles as well as great ones. In Jesus' name, Amen.
When to Pray This
Pray this when you have misplaced something and feel flustered or worried. Pause, take a breath, and let these words settle your heart before you begin to search. Many Christians remember St. Anthony as a helper in finding lost things; here we bring that need simply and directly to God.
A Verse to Hold On To
"What woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?" — Luke 15:8 (KJV)
