A Prayer for Communication in Marriage

Loving Father, thank You for the gift of my marriage. Teach us to speak to each other with kindness and truth.

Help us to listen before we answer, and to be slow to anger. Guard our words, so they build up and never tear down.

Where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity. Where there is silence, bring gentle honesty. Draw our hearts close as we share them.

Make us quick to forgive and quick to understand. May every conversation reflect Your patience and love, in Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this when conversations feel strained, or simply to invite God into your daily talks with your spouse. It is also a good prayer before a difficult discussion, asking for calm and understanding first.
