A Prayer for Addicts

Merciful God, we lift to You all who are bound by addiction. You see the weight they carry and the battles they fight each day. Draw near to them now.

Break the chains that hold them, Lord. Where there is craving, bring peace. Where there is shame, bring grace. Where there is despair, bring hope that does not fade.

Give them strength for one day at a time. Surround them with people who care, and with the help they need. Lead them gently toward healing and restored life.

We trust them to Your tender keeping. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this whenever your heart is burdened for those caught in addiction, whether loved ones or strangers. It is a gentle prayer to offer in intercession, and a reminder that recovery often begins one day at a time with God's help and the support of others.
