A Prayer After Losing a Daughter to Addiction

Father of all comfort, my heart is broken. My daughter is gone, and the grief is more than I can carry. I bring my sorrow to You, for I have nowhere else to turn.

You know how hard she fought, and how deeply I loved her. Take from me the guilt and the endless questions. Hold her now in Your mercy, safe from every pain that once bound her.

Be near me in the nights that feel too long. When the missing overwhelms me, wrap me in Your peace. Let me feel that she was Yours before she was mine, and that love does not end.

Help me to breathe again, one day at a time, until we meet where there are no more tears. In Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this whenever the grief rises, whether in quiet moments or sleepless nights. There is no wrong time to bring your sorrow to God. Let the words be a place to rest when you have no words of your own.

A Verse to Hold On To

"The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." — Psalm 34:18 (KJV)
