A Lunchtime Prayer for a Teacher at Work

Father, thank You for this break in my busy day. Thank You for the food before me and for a moment to rest.

Steady my heart after a full morning. Renew my patience and my energy for the students in my care.

Bless the children I teach, and the colleagues around me. Help me to serve them with kindness this afternoon.

I give the rest of this day to You, in Jesus' name, Amen.

When to Pray This

Pray this quietly as you sit down for lunch during the school day, before you eat or during a few still minutes alone. It is a gentle way to thank God for your food and to gather strength for the afternoon ahead.

A Verse to Hold On To

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
