Prayer of the Day

Jesus, I'm here. I don't know all the right words, so I'll just tell You the truth.

I have lived my own way, and it hasn't led me home. I have done wrong — some of it I can name, some of it I'd rather not. I can't fix myself, and I'm done pretending I can.

I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead so that I could live. I believe Your arms are open — even to me. Especially to me.

So today I turn around. Forgive me, Lord. Wash me clean. Come into my life and take the seat I've been keeping for myself. Be my Savior. Be my Lord. Be my God.

I give You my past, with all its weight. I give You my future, with all its unknowns. I give You this ordinary day, the first day of a new life.

Teach me to follow You. Fill me with Your Spirit. And when I stumble — because I will — remind me that I am Yours now, and You do not let go.

Thank You for hearing me. Thank You for wanting me.

Thank You, Father, for this day now ending.

For food on the table and a place to sleep. For work done and rest coming. For the people who love me, and the mercy that met me every hour, seen and unseen.

I didn't earn a minute of it. Receive my thanks — it's all I have to give back tonight, and You've never asked for more.
