✦ Mother's Day
Morning
A Mother's Day Prayer
Father, today we thank You for mothers.
Thank You for the love that shows up before sunrise and is still working after everyone else is asleep. Thank You for hands that have held us, fed us, steadied us, and let us go when it was time — even when letting go was the hardest love of all.
Bless every mother today. The new mother running on no sleep and pure devotion. The seasoned mother whose prayers stretch across decades. The grandmother mothering a second generation. The stepmother, the foster mother, the adoptive mother — and every woman who has mothered someone who needed her, whether or not anyone calls her "Mom."
Give them what they so rarely ask for themselves: rest for their bodies, peace for their minds, and the deep assurance that their love has mattered more than they will ever see.
And Lord, be especially near the ones for whom this day is heavy. The son or daughter missing a mother who is gone. The mother missing a child. The woman who has longed to be a mother and still waits. The family where the word "mother" carries hurt instead of comfort. You see every one of them today. Hold them gently, and let no one feel forgotten in a world full of flowers and cards.
Thank You that Your love is the love behind every mother's love — older, deeper, and unfailing. Comfort us today as one whom his mother comforteth, just as You promised.
For every mother we can hug today, we thank You. For every mother we can only remember, we thank You still. Her children rise up and call her blessed.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Evening
A Goodnight Prayer for the Family
Father, the house is quieting down, and I bring You my family before I sleep.
Thank You for every person under this roof tonight, and for the ones we love sleeping under other roofs — across town, across the world. One family, kept in one set of hands: Yours.
Forgive us for the ways we were impatient with each other today. We are hardest, somehow, on the people we love most. Let no sharp word from today follow any of us into tomorrow.
Watch over each one as they sleep. Give the tired ones deep rest. Give the worried ones peace. Give the little ones good dreams.
Thank You that home isn't the walls — it's the people, and it's You in the middle of us. Keep us close to each other, and closer to You.
Goodnight, Father. We're all in Your keeping now.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
