Morning
A Monday Morning Prayer
Lord, it's Monday. I'll be honest — part of me wanted to pull the covers back over my head. The whole week is standing at the door with its list.
But before the inbox, before the commute, before anyone needs anything, I remember what You said: Your mercies are new every morning. Not left over from last week. New. This morning. For me.
So take last week, Lord — the wins I forgot to thank You for and the failures I keep replaying — and let me set it all down. This is a fresh page, and You are already writing on it.
Give me energy for a strong start, good humor for the meetings and the messages, and enough grace for the coworker who is having a Monday too.
Walk into this week ahead of me. I'd rather follow You into it than face it alone.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Evening
An Evening Prayer to Close the Day
Father, the day is done, and I bring it to You — all of it.
Thank You for carrying me through it. For the mercies I noticed, and the many I didn't: the meals, the safe travel, the words that came when I needed them, the trouble that never arrived.
Where I did well today, it was Your grace. Thank You. Where I failed — and You and I both know where — forgive me. The sharp word, the shortcut, the kindness I skipped because I was busy or tired or just didn't want to. Wash it clean. Let me start tomorrow unburdened.
If I hurt anyone today, mend what I can't see, and give me the humility to make it right tomorrow. If anyone hurt me, help me set it down tonight. I don't want to carry it to bed.
Now quiet my mind, Lord. The day's leftover noise is still ringing in my ears — conversations, worries, the list of things undone. The undone things will keep. You never sleep, so I can.
Watch over my home tonight and everyone in it. Watch over the ones I love who are far away. Be near to those who have to work while the rest of us rest, and to anyone for whom tonight is long and hard.
Into Your hands I place this day, finished, and tomorrow, still unopened. I trust You with both of them. Give me rest tonight — and if You wake me in the morning, I'll thank You then too.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
