Prayer of the Day

Father, our family is hurting. Words were said that cannot be unsaid, and there is a distance between us now that none of us really wants. We need You to mend what we cannot.

Begin with me, Lord. Show me my own part in this — the pride, the sharp tongue, the silence held too long. Give me the humility to apologize first, even if I was not the only one wrong.

Soften every heart involved. Where offense has hardened into a wall, take it down one stone at a time. Help us remember that we belong to each other, and that being right is a poor trade for being close.

Heal the old wounds underneath this new one, the ones we have carried for years without naming. Give us the courage to speak gently, to listen all the way to the end, and to forgive as You have forgiven us.

Bring us back to one table, Lord — whether it takes a week or a season. Let love have the last word in this family.

Lord, give me sleep tonight — real rest, the kind You designed my body to need and my heart to receive.

Slow my breathing. Loosen my shoulders. Take the day's noise out of my ears.

You give sleep to those You love, so I'll stop trying to earn it and simply receive it.

Watch over me until morning.
